luckiest girl in the world

i am the luckiest girl in the whole world. i just had maddie at my house for a week. she has gone home now. i am mourning and a little depressed. jake is too. maddie come back! do you want to live with us????

date with emma

emma....she is a fun chick. she frequently makes me laugh. ask her about smeagle and she shudders and gets a worried look on her face.

i had a great time with emma. we started with lunch at marion's. yummy shakes and old fashioned food.

we then got busy with our "craft day". emma decided to make an apron. she picked out fabric from scraps of old clothes and we made the cutest apron (if i do say so myself) out of an old pillowcase. i want to make one for me now.

it snapped around the neck

and even snapped behind the back.

i loved it. we also made a couple of flowers for emma's hair and watched movies.

the next day, emma wanted to wear some of my make-up and try on some of my shoes. i don't get to wear some of my fancy san francisco shoes enough. i am glad that she loves them as much as i do.



emma is so cute with jake. she picked out clothes for him and got him all dressed.

she even helped me make pickles with cucumbers from the garden. she is so much help to have around. we love you emma! thanks for coming to stay!

i love my annie girl. she has such a fun little giggle. i will do anything to hear her laugh.

this was her day:



mcdonalds (what is it with mcdonald's and kids?) and swimming at the rec center.

my favorite was watching her play "blink" with matt. she wasn't about to put up with any messing around.

we went outside and played ghost in the graveyard in our luscious yard. we then went inside and played hide and seek and settled down for the night.

fiesta with friends

a couple of weeks ago we had a fiesta with some friends. good times....cafe rio salads, blindfolded musical chairs, fiesta music, fake mustaches and a cactus cake. what could be better!?! thanks tauni and jared for hosting such a fine event.

date with mia

when i think mia, i think spunky. it was so fun to spend some time with her. this is what she wanted to do:

we went swimming, had mcdonald's and went to the library

we made a pillow for her bed

we made a princess bed for her to lay on while watching movies and she slept on it that night

the next morning she wanted to go for a run (she brought her sneakers for this purpose)

we also had to play a game of hula baloo.

it was so fun to have you miss mia. we love you!

camping fun

we went camping last weekend with the jorgensen construction camp trailer for the first time. it was lots of fun. we have decided that we need to do this often. i have also personally decided that i need to scrub it top to bottom, before we take it again.



isn't it relaxing to be in the mountains....



we had a lot of rain and thunder....love it...especially since we weren't in a tent. it smelled so good and i loved the sound. jake didn't mind it much. we were in and out of the trailer between cloud bursts.

this table converted into a very small bed. this is where matt and i slept, this is also something that we will probably change for next time.

matt took jake and i to the spot where he proposed to me. so fun! it looks different than what it did when he proposed (springtime). we decided that we will go back sometime in the spring.

jake enjoyed sleeping with the sound of rain outside.

what a great way to spend a summer weekend!

date with koy

koy is 5 years old and he is a really cool nephew. we had our date the other day and had a great time. it is fun to spend one-on-one time. you learn all sorts of things. anyway, this is what we did together...

mcdonald's play land and then we went to vernal's rec. cener (koy had never been)

he was a good sport with having jake along. swimming was fun,

the whirlpool was our favorite (all three of us loved it!)
