hut heaven - not for naps

matt wanted to take a nap so he made a hut for the boys. 

he thought that he could go inside, with his fan, take a nap and the boys would just play around him.

sounds like a fairytale land to me, but who am i to interfere...

besides, it was much more entertaining to sit back and watch.

he totally rearranged jake's beds and room.

i warned him (like the nice wife that i am) that he would be responsible for all the cleanup of the said "hut".

as you will be able to see from the following pictures the boys were TOTALLY in the mood to just "chill" and let their dad take his much needed nap.

one night we rented puss in boots.

after viewing it once, our eldest insisted that he watch it again only this time he needed a hat, a belt and boots! 

he stayed in character throughout.

jake had his third birthday...

like 2 months ago.

i am seriously behind.

anyway, here are some of the festivities.

we had a little celebration with the jorgensens.

ethan has a birthday 2 days after jake.

we then celebrated with the rasmussens.

it was like torture for jake to look at his cake all day.

he had to wait until after church and dinner were over.

he couldn't have cared less about the cake,

but oh how he wanted to play with those cars.

i know that you are wondering why 2 candles.

well, yes he did turn three,

but he was sharing the cake with mia.

you need a candle for each kiddo for sure.

grandma spoiled him by letting him open his present early.

she was hoping it would be a distraction from the cake.

finally...

the time had arrived for the cake.

i LOVE maddie's bored expression.

mia ended up with her own cute pink cake,

so jake got to blow out 2 candles for his third birthday.

who let matt have the matches?!?

finally he got the cars.

i don't think he even ate a piece of cake.

there was joy all around!

and then there were the birthday festivities that we had the day of, with our own family

he got lots of cars 2 cars and a slide.

somehow, i don't have a picture of him on his slide,

but he LOVES it.

we have it in his playroom and he plays on it everday. 

um..you can't eat that.

we went to the rec center in vernal for some swimming

during toddler hour.

the boys had so much fun

and did not want to get out!

we then played in the gym with all the toddler toys.
