our little hiker

after leaving cove fort,
we headed for capital reef national park.
it is no secret that jake has a lot of energy so,
when we saw a sign for sunglo campground,
we stopped off and let jake have a little break from the car.
this kid LOVES to hike!
it was freezing cold,
so i stayed in the car with sam
while daddy (thanks matt) and jake
took a little hike up the hill.

jake was in heaven!

the only problem....

he didn't want to turn around or stop.

this is jake having a time out at the top of the hill.

because he still didn't want to turn around. 

finally...

he decided to cooperate (better than being carried).

they ran down the hill, which jake loved.

was when matt let go of jake's hand towards the bottom of the hill,

and jake tripping and missing a big rock by inches.

awesome. 

Cove Fort

have you ever stopped at cove fort???

well, you ought to.

matt's parents have been there
on a mission for 6 months

and are getting ready to head home.

we went to visit them the last week of october.

it was sooo cold and our kids were hungry.

hungry kids + cold = not very cooperative

but, we went on a tour of the fort

and it was so cool!

because of the previously mentioned conditions

i didn't get many pictures.

these first two are not mine,

corn maze

a couple of weeks ago we went to the corn maze. 

 oh what fun we had!!!

the boys spent all their time in the corn maze looking for

the imaginary "Swiper"

oh man!  did you see him run past? 

watch out swiper!

jake knows kung fu!!! 

sam was not as amused by swiper

as the rest of us.

family adventure

a couple of weeks ago

we went on a family adventure

jake has really become interested in dinosaurs

(remember the bulls...well now it's dinosaurs)

we started at the dinosaur quarry

jake LOVED it!

he was a little concerned about this dinosaur eating another one.

we then drove to a place called josie's cabin.

cute little place with a fun little hike into a nearby box canyon.

we ended our day at the dinosaur museum in vernal.

again...jake was in heaven. 

  

notice the little sign that says, "please stay on side walk."  try telling jake that when he sees a triceratop (his favorite!!!)

what a fun day!!!
