Easter time

I love Easter time!

I love the real meaning behind Easter

and I also love the traditions.

 

I love watching jake take great joy in coloring eggs.

his favorite is, of course, the green one.

during the middle of the egg coloring,

sam woke up from his nap.

not sure that he was ready.

not the happiest guy to be coloring eggs.

I love the sleep marks you can still see on his arm.

 

jake tried to help cheer him up. 

 

a few days later (Saturday) we did easter baskets

and an easter egg hunt in our yard.

the boys got spray bottles in their baskets,

they love them.

we had baskets and the egg hunt still in our pajamas.

you will notice the bed hair.

while waiting for the easter bunny to finish hiding all the eggs,

the boys had a little disagreement.

sam was still a little irritated.

but all that was forgotten,

once the egg hunt started.

 

I love jake's little fingers,

reaching and collecting as many as possible.

Christmas time

this happened to be Christmas Eve.

as you can see,

sam likes to help make the bed,

 

still healing (nose and mouth)

 from a crash down the garage steps,

and poor jake wasn't feeling the best.

Christmas...not a fun time to be sick.

we had a fun Christmas anyway.

jake and sam's lame parents didn't take too many pictures.

too busy playing with these cute boys.

our backyard has the perfect sledding hill!

we had so much fun on it this year.

snowman family

our first snowfall wasn't much,

but it was enough to make a snowman family

with each of us represented.

 

Zoo day with the Ashbys

last september we met up with

stacy, luke and Sadie

at the hogle zoo.

 

it was so fun!

we didn't end up with very many pictures.

as you can see, we don't even

have any with sadie or sam.

 

too busy looking at the fun animals,

enjoying the beautiful weather

and each other.
