thursday night we went to the drive-in to see "up". cute show!!! regretfully we don't have any pictures, but believe me when i tell you we had a cozy princess bed in the back of the truck. this is one of our summer favorites. we have been 3 times so far this summer.
friday night we went to a barbeque which ended right before an awesome, summer, thunderstorm. love those!
saturday morning, bright and early, we ran in the myton daze 5-k race. yes, you heard me right - myton. i have such a supportive husband. he ran this with me, pushing jake. matt - you are the best! everyone got medals and matt and i both won $6. woohoo! jake got a good nap. the jogging stroller is his favorite place to sleep (when it is in motion of course).
we spent some time in the garden and then went with grandma rass to stockman's (yummy steak) and to the outdoor production of "seven brides for seven brothers". you all know that i have the movie memorized, but they did not disappoint. it was super fun and i would definitely go again. i may just have to because tyler (little bro) is out of town and he has it memorized too. willingly or unwillingly (we will never know) he watched it hundreds of times with me. you ought to hear him sing "bless her beautiful hide" or "goin' courtin'". how fun would that be to go with him!?!

anniversary on a budget

monday is our 2nd wedding anniversary and we chose to celebrate this weekend in style (country, some may say redneck, style that is). i am just realizing that we only took one picture - what a bummer. words can't describe...it was awesome. we had dinner at pinn willie's in talmage. for those of you not from the area, pinn willie's is 30 minutes from anywhere. it is a cafe, grocery store, gas station, book exchange, etc. all within about 600 square feet of building. they make an awesome steak. we then hit the trail again and ended up in hannah, just past tabiona. hannah is a small little town (no stop light, no stop sign for that matter). it does have a general store and across the street is the hannah hilton. the hannah hilton is a cafe/bar and upstairs it has a few rooms. yep, that is where we stayed for the night. forty bucks. what a deal. granted, you don't have your own bathroom, that's down the hall, but usually there are no other guests. you do have a sink in your room. one of the public bathroom kind that have the spring loaded faucet handles that you have to hold on to make the water stay on. granted, your room is directly over the bar which can get loud when things are hopping, but it's all part of the fun. when checking in, you are greeted by two large boxer dogs. the first time i saw them they scared me, but turns out they are really sweet. matt and i wondered if there was a live video feed from our room into the bar for entertainment. let's hope not. such an adventure. the next morning we hopped on down the stairs to the cafe and had a country style breakfast of eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and toast. yummy! in fact the whole adventure was yummy because i was with my sweet husband. i love you matt!

this is our room, check out the bedspread - the room had a moose, pine tree theme. once again, i wish i had more pictures.

love her!

a good friend (thanks tauni!) told me about this blog - nieniedialogues.blogspot.com. she's adorable. she makes me want to be a better mom and wife. for some good reads, start back in august of last year (or before). if you read it, let me know what you think. i can't stop thinking about her and her little family.
